To provide young carers aged 8 -18 years, living within Brentwood and the Basildon Borough, with a safe environment to gain professional support and reduce the feelings of isolation that so many experience. It is through empowerment and guidance young carers will have the opportunity to develop their life-skills and build resilience; enabling positive participation within their own communities, in-order that they can gain a deeper insight into not only themselves, but of the society and world in which they live. All young carers will feel valued, respected and understood. A person-centred approach will be adopted when working with young carers and their families. We will help to challenge any forms of oppression or discrimination that is encountered by young carers and their families. We will work in partnership with young carers, their families and professionals in-order to safeguard, protect and secure positive outcomes for young carers and we will demonstrate openness, honesty and accountability within our practice.
