The Chalvedon Community Centre is a registered charity run by volunteers for the benefit of residents living within the Basildon area, but mainly for the people living on the Chalvedon estate. Besides being the local polling station we also provide the chance for residents to meet our local council representatives and police through meetings and surgeries. The Heart of Pitsea also hold their meetings and AGM at the centre. We have a large hall which is hired by various groups (yoga, keep fit etc), we also provide help for people living alone or elderly and have coffee mornings where they can meet, other popular activities include weekly bingo sessions and table top sales which are very popular. We have a small bar which is popular with residents and is used by people as a meeting place. We have a well kept garden which includes the Willow Pond of which a book has been made .Our aim is to help residents, and local groups with their needs. especially those on their own and the elderly.
