Basildon Pride

Basildon Pride was established in 2018 following a series of hate incidents in the Basildon Borough towards the LGBT community. After Basildon Mini Pride in September 2018 the community decided it was important for Basildon to have its own Pride festival. This took place in September 2019 and was a huge success. Our focus is supporting the LGBT community and our allies in the Basildon Borough. We plan to hold annual Basildon Pride Festivals however we also understand that our support needs to be available throughout the year. We have therefore launched Basildon Pride Everyday which brings a series of events and support sessions to the community throughout the year. We aim to keep the LGBT conversation open helping to drive greater understanding of the LGBT community within the wider community. We have recently launched our Basildon LGBT Support Group on Facebook providing a safe space for the LGBT community to seek support and to have open and safe conversations.
